Time for an update!

- My good friend Jenny has given me the opportunity to have a photo published in a brochure that will be going out with the local paper at the start of next month. It's for the Learning Directory for this semester. My image will be seen by around 90,000 people, so that'll be nice to add the the portfolio. I'll post it when I have a copy.

- My photos of Dallas Frasca from her performance at the Deep Roots Festival have been used on her MySpace - in exchange for a copy of her album - yesss! When I get sent to gigs and I haven't heard the artists before, chances are they're not quite to my taste (had to word that carefully!)... so I must admit I was a little bit cynical about going to a "Roots" festival but man, Dallas Frasca! Hello! She could kick your ass... through song! Other notable artists from the festival, while I'm on the topic - Martin Martini and The Red Eyes.

- I'm apparently still reaping the benefits of winning that jmag competition. While snapping away and getting sunburnt at the Falls Festival in Tasmania, I befriended a lovely aspiring photographer/journalist by the name of Caz. She is starting up her own mag called Lights & Music, and is in the process of setting up some interviews/promo shoots for me to do for her in Melbourne! She's trying for Dukes of Windsor at the moment, which would be an amazing first interview for me! In my excitement, I've ordered a nifty little voice recorder in the shape of a pen. Now I just need a shoe phone...

- Just the one gig on the calendar at the moment - Grinspoon @ the Hifi Bar. I'm looking forward to seeing the boys after so long (I'm talking 8 years now, last time was at the 2000 Big Day Out if memory serves me correctly) but I'm a bit apprehensive about what the crowd will be like. Triple M listeners, I fear.

- The only other thing I've got at the moment is a bside boys update, as I don't think it's been made very clear that stuff is actually happening, due to me being such a busy bee all the time! So, here's the happy-haps. Yes, it's still very much "slow and steady" at the moment, but it is going to take a while to get it to really kick off. Once I get to 4-5 shoots done I'm going to get a proper website done up which will be great, but for now I'm just going to upload any of the photos to my Flickr page. The MySpace profile is really just for networking, finding models, sparking interest, spreading the word... I'm really not a fan of the site and I don't want to add the images there. As for future shoots - at the moment I only have a couple of models lined up, so if you're reading this - I AM ON THE HUNT. It's evident in the photos of Blake, body modifications are not really a must-have to make a great model for this project.

- Oh and join the How To Rock forum. Started up by a friend of a friend, it's a place to crap on about everything rock and roll ;)
